St. Bartholomew's Churchyard

The view from the Churchyard, looking west towards Weeford

In addition to the gravestones of the long-dead residents of Hints, the War Memorial is interesting in that the modern sandstone cross which forms the top part has been mounted on the base of a medieval cross, believed to to date from 1153. In the Church are two framed documents, one telling of the erection of the memorial, signed by the dignitaries involved, the other listing the villagers who served in the 1914-18 War, with names of those who died in action written in red and gold.

 PLANS:

Our plans for this section of the web site are to publish a plan of the churchyard, include showing the location of each known plot, indicating any inscriptions.
