The Lawley Family

On the left, the most ancient memorial to the Lawley family, the text reads;

Sacred to the memory of
Sir Robt Lawley Bart of Canwell in this county
Ninth son of Sir Thomas Lawley of Spoonbill
In the county of Salop.
Also
Of Elizabeth his wife, Daughter of Sir Lambert
Blackwell Bart of Sprouston-Hall in
The county of Norfolk

She died the 21st March 1774
He died the 15th November 1779
They were sincere Christians

The memorial shown on the right, is placed in memory of Sir Rober Lawley, and the text reads as follows

Sacred to the memory of
Sir Robert Lawley Bart
Of Canwell in the county of Stafford
Who departed this life on the 12th of March 1793.
He was elected member for the county of Warwick
To three successive Parliaments, and died universally
Lamented, aged 57. Also Jane, his wife, daughter of
Beilby Thompson Esq of Escricke in the county of York. She died November 9th 1816, aged 73, leaving four daughters and three sons to regret the loss of a most affectionate and excellent mother.

likewise to the memory of Anna Maria Baronness Wenlock
Relict of the above Lord Wenlock
Who departed their life August 20th 1850
aged 79 years

This monument is erected in affectionate remembrance of Sir Francis Lawley Baronet of Canwell in this County and of Spoonhill in the county of Salop.

Born 1782, married 1815, Mary Anne daughter of George Talbot ofEviting in the county of Gloucester Esquire. Succeeded his eldest brother Robert Lord Wenlock, in the ancient Baronetry of Lawley 1834. Died universally loved and lamented January 30th 1851.

In the vault beneath also lies Mary Anne, his wife who died on the 21st December 1878
